SACG Original/Home Chili

Ingredients

  • Tri-Tip 2-2.5lbs

  • Ground Beef 1lb

  • Large white onion

  • Large red onion

  • 2 bell peppers

  • 5 cloves of garlic

  • 6-8 tbs of SACG: Chili Mix #11

  • 1 can oof black beans

  • 1 can of kidney beans

  • 1 can of pinto beans

  • 4 cups pork broth, homemade whenever possible

  • 4 cups beef broth, homemade whenever possible

For plating

  • Top w/Shredded cheese

  • Use cracker of choice

Tools needed

  • Heatsource

  • Large mixing spoon

  • Knife and cutting surface

  • Large pot 5qt

Directions

1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.

2. Add the cubed Tri-Tip and ground beef to the pot and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the diced onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot and cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the SACG: Chili Mix #11 and stir to combine.

5. Add the black beans, kidney beans, and pinto beans to the pot and stir to combine.

6. Pour in the pork and beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.

7. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.

8. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. 9. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
